A woman game for anything. Delicate, perhaps, at first glance, but really only the first! Beatrix Tschurtschenthaler is a power woman through and through. One who stands firmly with both feet on the ground – and sits even more firmly in the saddle. Even as a young girl, her greatest passion was for horses. Not the sugary sweet cake creations that her father conjured up daily in the bakery where they lived. It was clear from the very start that this wild child would not follow in the footsteps of her confectioner father. Beatrix preferred to spend her time at “Peppe Kroma’s” farm with her favourite animals, the Noriker horses – and with the owner’s son, whom she later married. Today, the Kromas offer “1 HP” riding lessons, coach rides and, in winter, leisurely sled rides from their horse ranch, through the picturesque Fischleintal valley as far as the Talschlusshütte hut. What today is the epitome of slowing down and relaxing for stressed out contemporaries, probably can be traced back to the good feel for tourism of her father-in-law. Typical for the generation of tourism pioneers, this wood carver had the idea of harnessing his strong working animals up to the coach or sled and offering romantic rides when, in 1989, the Fischleintal valley was named a nature park.
