A rewarding, traditional walk with a panorama factor
Stout boots and a little bit of fitness are required.
You do not need more to see the best side of the Sexten Dolomite mountains up close. The Three Peaks hike, also calles Sexten hut round, is the most established traditional walk and should be done by all visitors who want the genuine Dolomite mountain feeling without climbing equipment. This day tour is comparatively easy to handle, starts from the Fischleintal valley and leads through the Bacherntal valley to the Comici Zsigmondy hut. It takes you past the imposing Zwölferkofel/Cima Dodici and further on to the Büllelejochhütte/Pian di Cengia hut up to the Drei Zinnen/Locatelli hut. This naturally comes with a view of the imposing north faces of the Three Peaks! The return path leads past the Laghi dei Piani/Bödenseeen lakes and through the Altensteintal/Val di Sasso Vecchio valley.
Is it now time for… a summit experience? A short detour on the way from the Zsigomondy/Comici hut to the Büllelejoch/Pian di Cengia hut leads to the Oberbachernspitze/Croda Fiscalina peak (2,674 m). This peak can be reached via a small but rewarding detour of approximately 20 minutes and offers great vistas of Altenstein valley to the Toblingerknoten/Torre di Toblin and the Einser/Cima Una peaks.
